Young dancers from the Pink City win the title of world breakdance champion in Japan

They are between 12 and 16 years old and have held the coveted title of world champions since this weekend. But not in just any discipline, that of breakdance. These nine young Toulouse players created a surprise in Okinawa, Japan, during the international competition “Battle of the year” by winning as a team against Japan in the “kids” category.

Trained in Break’in schoolthis columérine school which welcomes dancers from all over the city, these young people are the first French people to win this prestigious title.

After months of preparation, those who had already won the title of French “kids” champions 2022, are now following in the footsteps of the one who trained them, Abdel Chouari, four-time breakdance world champion.

A title that allows France to sit in the discipline which will make its first Olympics at the next Paris Olympics in 2024.
