Sido instead of Setlur: The rapper took his colleague’s best-known hit “You don’t love me” and reinterpreted it.

It’s been over 25 years since the German rapper Sabrina Setlur (49) desperately shouted “You don’t love me” – and stormed to the top of the charts with the first single from her second album “The New S-Class” with the same title. Sido’s (42) newly released single also goes by this name and reinterprets Setlur’s hit around the well-known refrain.

Paul Würdig, Sido’s real name, also uses the song as a “personal confrontation with separation, loss and the first steps afterwards,” according to a press release for the single. In 2020, the report made the rounds that the rapper and presenter Charlotte Würdig (45) had unexpectedly separated from each other after eight years of marriage together. The ex-couple has two children together.

Other artists have also tried it

In the music video for Sido’s reinterpretation The dancer and actress Kassandra Wedel (39), known, among other things, from the series “In aller Friendship – The Young Doctors”, can be seen. Heavily pregnant, she accompanies Sido’s singing with sign language.

Before Sido, musician Ado Kojo (39) and “The Voice of Germany” coach Shirin David (28) came up with the idea of making their own version of the Setlur hit. In 2015, her “You don’t love me” made it into the top 10 of the German charts for several weeks.

Sido will soon be available to experience live

Anyone who wants to hear Sido perform the song live should have the opportunity to do so in the coming weeks. His “Paul – Live with you” tour starts in Leipzig on October 24th, which will also take him to Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg with a total of 15 planned concerts. On November 10th and 11th there will be two final concerts in his hometown of Berlin.
