“You are corrupt”, Krépin Diatta rages against arbitration and CAF

Krépin Diatta, right back of Senegal, accused members of the African Confederation of being corrupt after his team’s defeat (1-1, 5 tab 4) against Ivory Coast, the organizing country, in the round of 16 of the CAN. He deplores a penalty not whistled for the Lions of Teranga.

“You are corrupt,” Senegalese defender Krépin Diatta told CAF members, furious with the refereeing after the elimination against Ivory Coast (1-1, 5 tab to 4) in the round of 16 of the African Cup, Monday in Yamoussoukro.

“You killed us, you are corrupt. Keep your African Cup,” railed the right winger of AS Monaco to members of the media service of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in the mixed zone where journalists and players meet after matches.

Diatta considered that there was a penalty for a foul by Odilon Kossounou on Ismaïla Sarr (55th) and criticized the referee, the Gabonese Pierre Ghislain Atcho, for not having consulted the video. Ivory Coast equalized on a penalty from Franck Kessié after a foul by goalkeeper Édouard Mendy on Nicolas Pépé (86), attributed after viewing to VAR.
