A report announced as an explosion. On Tuesday, the Independent Commission on Child Crime in the Catholic Church will unveil its report and submit it to the Conference of Bishops of France (CEF) and to the Conference of Religious and Religious of Institutes and Congregations (Corref), which has it. ordered. But some elements have already leaked. We already know that the report has identified between 2,900 and 3,200 pedophiles in the Church in seventy years. And that it is a “minimum estimate”, according to the President of the Commission, Jean-Marc Sauvé.
The Commission must also enumerate 45 proposals which will touch on several areas: listening to victims, prevention, training of priests and religious, canon law, transformation of the governance of the Church, etc.
