27-year-old man jailed for stabbing his father to death

A 60-year-old man was found bloodied and dying in his garden on Sunday morning in the small village of Moulayrès, near Graulhet, in Tarn.

It was his partner who discovered him and notified the emergency services, before the sixty-year-old, whose body showed “several stab wounds” – eight according to La Dépêche du Midi – does not succumb to his injuries.

A motive that remains mysterious

Thanks to the neighborhood investigation in particular, the police’s suspicions quickly focused on the victim’s son. This 27-year-old man, living in Lacrouzette, around thirty kilometers from Moulayrès, was arrested at his home shortly after. According to a source close to the investigation, the gendarmes found “the weapon that could be the murder weapon” during the search carried out at his home.

Placed in police custody, the suspect admitted to parricide, “without giving a concrete explanation for his action”. He was indicted on Tuesday before being incarcerated at the Albi remand center.
