“You are a collaborator”… The mayor of Carhaix sentenced for public insults

“You are a collaborator, if you were born in 40 you would be behind the gun”. These are the comments that the mayor of Carhaix Christian Troadec would have made on July 16 at the Vieilles Charrues against a volunteer. As he went with relatives to the site of the festival he co-founded in 1992, the elected official, visibly alcoholic, would have insulted security guards and volunteers who asked him to show his identity document.

One of the volunteers had filed a complaint for public insults. Tried for these facts Thursday before the criminal court of Brest, Christian Troadec was sentenced to a fine of 1,500 euros.

Already at the center of a controversy after an “orgy” evening

Throughout the hearing, the various left-wing mayor of the small town in central Brittany denied the facts, saying he was the victim of a “set-up” and recalling the “heavy different” which opposes him to the president of the festival. Old Plows.

Christian Troadec is also at the center of a lively controversy after the organization of an evening in December 2021 described by his opponents as an “orgy”. She was held in a small committee in the village hall which was to host the traditional end-of-year meal, canceled at the last moment.
