Würzburg: Prosecution calls for prison sentence for violent teacher – Bavaria

The Würzburg public prosecutor’s office would like to obtain a prison sentence of two years and nine months and a professional ban for an educator accused of mistreating children. According to the Würzburg Regional Court, the 30-year-old’s defense attorney pleaded for a fine of an undisclosed amount on Monday; alternatively, the woman could receive a suspended sentence. The closing statements were held behind closed doors to protect the defendants.

For the second defendant, a 37-year-old, the public prosecutor demanded a prison sentence of ten months, suspended on probation, among other things, for mistreating those under her protection through omission. The woman’s defense advocated a fine of a maximum of 140 daily rates of 35 euros each. The former head of the affected kindergarten group in the Würzburg district only reported the alleged attacks on her younger colleague around a year later – she was afraid that she would not be believed, she explained in court.

The 30-year-old is said to have intentionally tortured one to two-year-old children at the end of 2021. At the start of the trial, she denied the public prosecutor’s allegations, but admitted that she had behaved inappropriately and unacceptablely towards the girls and boys in some situations. The verdict is due to be announced on Friday.
