Lisa Buckwitz reached the podium in Lillehammer in the monobob after a bad first run. The 29-year-old defends a top position.

Bobsleigh pilot Lisa Buckwitz from BRC Thuringia has… Lillehammer missed their fourth victory in the fifth Monobob World Cup this season. The 29-year-old two-man Olympic champion from 2018 took third place on the 1994 Olympic track behind winner Kaysha Love from the USA and Australian Breeana Walker, who was a hundredth of a second faster.

Buckwitz, who set a starting record for the track in Lillehammer in the second run, continues to lead the overall ranking with 1043 points ahead of Love and Walker, who are tied on points (1004 each). Laura Nolte from BSC Winterberg took sixth place, Maureen Zimmer (BSC Sachsen Oberbärenburg) came eighth.

“I’m super happy that I made it to the podium. The first run was very bad, the second was better. Nevertheless, I’m happy with it. Tomorrow I want to do better twice,” said Nolte about the two-man bobsleigh World Cup on Sunday .
