With the first eight-meter jump of his career, Leo Neugebauer has moved up to second place in the world championship decathlon after the second discipline. The world’s best of the year celebrated his personal best at the World Championships in Athletics in Budapest.

No competitor has sailed further than the 23-year-old, who now has 1,992 points. Canadian Olympic gold medalist Damian Warner, who won the 100 meters in 10.32 seconds, remains ahead with 2,020 points.

After the season best of 11.20 seconds, Niklas Kaul recorded 7.16 meters in the long jump, but he may have problems with his left hip. This was indicated by his father Michael on ARD. Overall, the European champion and former world champion is ranked 23rd with 1669 points.

Ulmer Manuel Eitel jumped 7.14 meters after 10.44 seconds in the sprint and is in 13th place with 1836 points after two disciplines.
