Borussia Dortmund vs Paris Saint-Germain: Who will advance to the quarter-finals?

In the Champions League, the first leg of the semi-finals is coming up and Borussia Dortmund is challenged against Paris Saint-Germain. BVB secured their ticket to the round of the last four teams thanks to a strong performance in the second leg against Atlético Madrid. Head coach Edin Terzic’s team now wants to make it to the final at London’s Wembley Stadium against the top French team.

The dress rehearsal for the duel with the reigning French champions went badly wrong for Borussia Dortmund. At RB Leipzig, BVB suffered a deserved 4-1 defeat, which increased their gap to fourth place. “We will now have to turn our attention relatively quickly to Wednesday,” warned sports director Kehl after the bitter defeat at the Saxons. “We have shown that often enough that we can perform very, very well in this competition.”

The reigning German runner-up draws extra motivation from the knowledge that they can secure renewed Champions League qualification by reaching the final. “We can turn fifth place into a Champions League place for ourselves. We have this in our own hands,” emphasized Kehl. In order to do that, there has to be a significant increase in performance, otherwise Borussia Dortmund has no chance against Paris Saint-Germain.
