Women’s rights: Poland argues again about contraception and abortion – politics

President Duda is blocking a law that would allow minors to take the morning-after pill without a prescription. And the desired liberalization of abortion rights is putting the new government to a tough test.

On Tuesday morning, Barbara Nowacka once again explained in an interview what the “morning after pill” actually is. Nowacka has been Poland’s Minister of Education since December and as such she sometimes has to clarify things. And so she repeated that this pill was not an abortion drug, but an emergency contraceptive.
