Uli Hoeneß knows the building in the Frankfurt Justice Center. The patron of FC Bayern was there almost a quarter of a century ago. There was a tax trial against former Eintracht Frankfurt officials and players, and Hoeneß was called as a witness. At the time, the regional court wanted to know how high the Munich club’s salary offer was to Frankfurt striker Anthony Yeboah in 1993. Hoeneß couldn’t remember the exact amount – and he couldn’t help the court in any decisive way either.
