With the Sankliché application, we learn French by challenging ourselves

Learning a language also means confronting the local population. Saliha Ouldyerou, teacher of French as a foreign language (FLE) in Montpellier (Hérault), has always encouraged her students to take the plunge. “I offer them, for example, to go and visit an exhibition, or to order a yule log, in a pastry shop, she confides to 20 minutes. Taking this step is essential. When you are a foreigner, in a country where you learn the language, such simple things can be very complicated. »

These life-size experiments gave this Montpellier professor the idea of creating an innovative application, Sanklichewhich offers those who learn French a teaching method based on small challenges.

Try on a garment, ask for directions…

“Each of these challenges will be classified by category, and by difficulty, according to the levels, continues the entrepreneur. Users will be free to choose the challenge they want to take up. This can be, for example, going to the market, and asking a seller about what fruits are in season. To ask for directions on the street. Or to try on a garment in a store. We can then share the proof of the achievement of the challenge, a photo or a short video for example, on the application. »

The challenges are thus posted for the appreciation of the community of learners of Sankliché, but also of French volunteers, ready to connect to give them a boost. The application is under construction. It should be out this summer. With this innovative project, Saliha Ouldyerou seduced La ruche, a structure that supports companies, of which she is the winner. La Montpellier also caught the eye of Orange, which selected her project as part of its Women entrepreneurs scheme.
