Thanks to their flair, the gendarmes of the Pyrénées-Orientales have solved a sordid affair. The facts occurred on May 27, but were made public on June 8.
While acting as part of a mission to contact the population, the soldiers of Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque, a town near Perpignan, met a merchant from the town. They then noticed the presence of a client, accompanied by a young girl, whose behavior seemed suspicious to them.
European arrest warrant
The gendarmes then discovered, after checking, that the man had been wanted for several days by the German authorities. He was the subject of a European arrest warrant for kidnapping and sequestration of the young girl, a minor.
The gendarmes then followed them outside and proceeded to arrest the individual. The young girl was immediately taken care of by other gendarmes.
In the car, handcuffs and tape
During the search of the vehicle, they discovered tape, handcuffs, a firearm and equipment used in the kidnapping of the victim.
