Interviewed on the show The moment of luxury of the Non Stop People channel, this Wednesday, to talk about his lifestyle, the former minister Luc Ferry indicated that with 3,000 euros of retirement per month, he was “obviously not able to live”. Comments, deemed indecent, which aroused many reactions.

The philosopher explained that he was receiving his retirement as a teacher and the copyright for his books, but no compensation for his former post as Minister of National Education: “My retirement as a minister? There is nothing at all! Not only do I not have a ministerial pension, but I contribute myself. I have my pension as a university teacher: 3,000 euros, and I have my copyright. I must also have a pension from the Economic and Social Council, which must be 800 euros, ”he assured.

“Indecent”

For the writer, this amount is insufficient to ensure his daily lifestyle, and in particular the studies of his children: “I need more than that! I have daughters who are still young, who are 20 and 21 years old. But with 3,000 euros I obviously cannot live. My daughters are in extremely expensive schools. I borrowed 200,000 euros for my daughters’ studies (…) so obviously it’s the best school in the world! »He justified.

Words that did not fail to provoke many reactions on social networks, such as that of Olivier Faure, the First Secretary of the Socialist Party, who recalls that the former minister was opposed to the revaluation of the minimum wage in 2010 .

Nassira El Moaddem, the journalist ofFreeze on images, described the words of Luc Ferry “indecent”, stressing that the amount of his retirement was closer to 4,000 euros.

Faced with the outcry, Luc Ferry spoke on his Instagram account, ensuring “not to complain at all”.

“I didn’t steal anything from anyone either. You have to get out of this shitty world anyway or you will be sued when I just have a teacher’s retirement and the copyright to my books. Point bar! “, did he declare.
