King Charles made a special appearance at the Royal Opera House, where he celebrated with the artists on stage.

King Charles (75) was in good spirits at a special gala performance at the Royal Opera House in London. Music director Sir Antonio Pappano (64) was honored with the event. Charles obviously didn’t want to miss that either. The cancer-stricken monarch recently attended five public appointments within 48 hours, as reported by the Daily Mail, among others. Charles is said to be very pleased that his doctors have given him permission to make more public appearances again despite his cancer treatment.

The King has been patron of the Royal Opera House since 2009 and is considered a great music lover. According to the report, the 75-year-old walked across the stage hand in hand with artists at the celebration for Pappano to honor the conductor. According to the Daily Mail, he said of Charles: “He was just so generous in his praise, and sincere, and that means everything, he loves music.” Pappano added: “He knighted me and I have hosted several events at Buckingham Palace over the years where he was the driving force and of course I conducted the coronation, so we have quite a few Events designed.”

Camilla jokes about husband Charles

According to the newspaper, his wife Queen Camilla (76) also commented on the fact that Charles returned to the public with a lot of energy. At a garden party at Lamb House in Rye, she revealed about Charles’ health that he was “doing better” and joked that it would be even better if he “behaved.”

The British monarch made it public at the beginning of February that he was suffering from cancer. There is no further information about the type of disease. Charles did not attend public appointments for several weeks, but otherwise continued to work. At the end of April, the palace announced the monarch’s return to public life. According to media reports, a statement said His Majesty’s treatment was continuing, “but doctors are so pleased with the progress made so far that the King is now able to resume a number of public duties.”
