At 28, Benedikt Hirschmann from Bad Tölz is one of the youngest section chairmen in the German Alpine Club (DAV). In the district town he has been at the head of almost 8,200 members since 2021. The elementary school teacher went on his first ski tours at the age of six because his mountaineering parents took him with them. In an interview, he explains what beginners in particular need to look out for when ski touring and how everyone can best prepare for this sport.
