Watzke would like to have Hellmann at the head of the DFL

DFL boss and BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke wants to make Hellmann, who has been on the Frankfurt board of directors since 2012, the new full-time managing director of the league and thus install it there as a permanent solution.

According to his critics, he recently constructed a conflict at Eintracht in order to get out of his current contract prematurely.

Even before the discussion about Kahn’s future, the Bavarians had campaigned for Hellmann’s installation at the DFL because they had a high opinion of the business lawyer.
