Why young people with a migration background want to leave Germany – Munich

They are afraid to go out on the streets and no longer feel understood by their friends: Since the revelations about deportation plans in parts of the right-wing scene, something has changed for young people with a migrant background. Ayo, 23, Leo, 20, and Elyas, 22, report.

“I walk through my neighborhood. I feel the looks. I try to convince myself that they are interested, curious looks. Almost no one on the street looks like me. I think in terms of voting quotas, walk faster, and there is always fear .” This is how Ayo, 23, describes her thoughts when she leaves the house. Leo, 20, feels abandoned by his circle of friends with his worries and Elyas, 22, already knows exactly that he wants to leave Germany and where he is headed. All three young people do not want to give their full names and no photo of them should be published. The fear is not new.
