According to a study, wages have not fallen as much in recent years as employee representatives suggest. Nevertheless, the potential for conflict between unions and employers is likely to remain high.

In the passionate disputes between unions and employers, much is a question of perspective. In these times, employee representatives often denounce that many people have lost wages – and they are right when they base their analysis on the past two years: inflation was almost 13 percent combined in the energy crisis years of 2022 and 2023 – a historic high that has torn holes in wallets that have not yet been filled everywhere.
