Who will win the Eurovision Song Contest 2023? Before the grand finale, the first favorites have emerged.

Who will win this year’s Eurovision Song Contest? Before the finale, the first favorites are already emerging. One country in particular is at the top of the list for bookmakers: Sweden. Loreen (39) competes again for the Scandinavian country, the singer already won in 2012 with “Euphoria”. Now she is trying her luck again in Liverpool with the title “Tattoo”. The betting shops are currently reckoning with a 42 percent chance of winning, which puts Sweden in first place the fan community “eurovisionworld.com”. But other artists are also among the favourites.

The Nordic countries convince

According to the portal, the neighboring country Finland is directly behind Sweden. Here the betting shops see a 23 percent chance of winning. “Cha Cha Cha” by Käärijä is well received by many and, like Sweden, is one of the top favorites. The 29-year-old rapper stood shirtless and with a neon green puffy jacket on the stage of the national competition, sang in Finnish and ended up winning hands down.

Ukraine is currently in third place with a five percent chance of winning. The Kalush Orchestra won last year with “Stefania”. Can they do it again? The duo Tvorchi will at least try with “Heart Of Steel”. Although Ukraine won in 2022, the ESC cannot take place there due to the Russian war of aggression. Liverpool was chosen by those responsible as an alternative.

These are fan favourites

Also this year the “Organisation Générale des Amateurs de l’Eurovision” (OGAE), the international organization of all ESC fans, there will be a vote on the fan favorites. The OGAE clubs could vote in their countries until the end of April. Sweden is in first place there, followed by Finland and France. For France, 25-year-old La Zarra enters the ring with “Évidemment”. The fans see Ukraine in last place here.

In the song checks of the portal “eurovision.de” Fans and experts also vote for their favourites. After the four song checks, Finland is ahead. Austria followed closely behind with the duo Teya & Salena, who performed the song “Who The Hell Is Edgar?” will perform. Norway comes in third with singer Alessandra (20) and the title “Queen Of Kings”.

So are the chances of victory for Germany

But what about Germany in 2023? Last year, Malik Harris (25) scored a meager six points and finished last. If the betting shops have their way, there won’t be a win this time either: The fan community “eurovisionworld.de” places Lord Of The Lost in 16th place and expects a chance of winning of less than one percent. At OGAE, Germany manages a meager 26th place.

The first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 9th, the second will follow on May 11th. The final will take place on May 13th.
