A facelift for John Clark
When the film begins, the latter is still called John Kelly and is not yet the friend of the legendary Jack Ryan. In the skin of Willem Dafoe
Before being played by Michael B. Jordan, the character of John Clark was played by Willem Dafoe in Immediate danger (1994) and Liev Schreiber in The sum of All Fears (2002). Michael B. Jordan brings him an additional fragile and threatening dimension at the same time. Gentle as a lamb with his wife, he is all the more believable in the action as he performs his stunts himself.
In his camp are Americans played by Jamie Bell, Guy Pearce and especially the astonishing Jodie Turner-Smith, androgynous actress who is essential in a mainly male cast. Michael B. Jordan leaves room for them to exist in this series of breathtaking scenes which particularly highlights him. Submerged plane or stormed building is their playground.
John Clark back
John Clark wouldn’t be so convincing without the directing of Stefano Sollina. The director of Suburra, from the continuation of Sicario and episodes of the series ZeroZeroZero and Gomorra brings a stamp of astounding realism to these international issues managed by felonious people. Enough to hope that the rest Rainbow Six will be as exciting as this first opus.
