Whitsun weather in the north: sun, clouds and rain | NDR.de – News – Lower Saxony

After a sunny start to the Whitsun weekend, it’s a little more unsettled in the north on Whit Monday today.

In Lower Saxony the meteorologists are expecting sun today, sometimes more compact clouds and, especially in the afternoon, local showers and isolated thunderstorms. There may be rain later, especially between the Ems and the Lower Elbe. Strong to stormy gusts are expected on the North Sea. In East Frisia, the daily highs are around 18, otherwise it is a bit warmer in Lower Saxony with temperatures between 20 and 24 degrees.

Sun, clouds – only isolated thunderstorms

For Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania only isolated thunderstorms are forecast – but with a change from sunshine to clouds, there is also a risk of new showers, especially towards the evening. In Schleswig Holstein and Hamburg it will remain partly cloudy, locally rain is expected. The maximum values ​​in the north are 16 degrees on Sylt, 19 degrees in Husum, up to 21 degrees in Hamburg and up to 24 degrees in Löcknitz.

The Pentecost weekend started sunny in many places with mild temperatures. Numerous people took the opportunity for excursions to the north German coasts. There was Traffic jams on the roads and overcrowded regional trains.
