A tiled splashback
If tiling remains one of the most popular coverings in the kitchen – especially on the splashback – it is because it combines practicality and aesthetics. Offering an incredible range of formats, colors and finishes, it is particularly sublime in a white kitchen, where you will only see it! And if you want to enjoy its aesthetics without embarking on major works, nothing could be simpler: just adopt an adhesive backsplash tile!
The tiling allows you to create a custom-made splashback. In this small kitchenette, we opted for a graphic pattern with a resolutely Scandinavian spirit, making sure to fully dress the splashback at the level of the hob – an area particularly exposed to dirt, which it is good to be able to clean in a twist of the hand.
Trend, the small hexagonal tiles! We take the opportunity to bring a touch of color to the kitchen, working it in contrast or, as here, in monochrome. In this trendy little kitchen, we fell in love with duck blue, a blue-green shade that has the particularity of producing a particularly bright contrast with white.
For the past few seasons, we have taken great pleasure in mixing tiles and parquet. This bias is ideal in an open kitchen, because it allows the space to be perfectly structured. And when the splashback is in line with the floor, the result is stunning!
The secret to a balanced decor? Do not abuse the grounds! If you have opted for a colored floor tile, choose a more sober and monochrome splashback. Here, we opted for large tiles whose blue matches perfectly with that of the cement tiles on the floor.
The most trendy? It is the credenza which is made very small or, on the contrary, which offers XXL dimensions. Here, she invests the wall, to become the focal point and set the tone for the whole room.
In this small contemporary white kitchen, the splashback is adorned with a chevron tiling: a well-found pose to bring a little dynamism to the decor and visually enlarge the space.
This white kitchen benefits from exceptional light. To take full advantage of it, we therefore played the tone-on-tone card, by adopting white earthenware that sparkles the light all along the credenza: simple and effective!
In this white kitchen with a chic country spirit, we have adopted a zellige-type tiling on the splashback. Whatever it is discreet in tone on tone, it benefits from an authentic and particularly elegant aesthetic.
If the total white look of the splashback seems a little too wise to you, adopt the current trend, particularly hot on the splashback: colored joints. Very chic graphic black, sunny yellow or arty Klein blue… it’s up to you!
A very trendy splashback

Timeless, terrazzo has made a comeback at home. And it is perfect for dressing the splashback of a white kitchen, to which it brings a mineral touch with a touch of retro.
The marble splashback immediately infuses the kitchen with luxury. However, it is often better to opt for an imitation, more robust and easier to maintain. The Dekton® is one of the high-tech materials capable of imitating it to perfection. It also has the advantage of making it possible to produce parts in a single block. In a contemporary white kitchen, we fall for the splashback as a direct extension of the work plan.
The colored worktop is available in an infinite range of colors and finishes: top, to bring a touch of cheerfulness to a white kitchen! The good idea: opt for a model that plays the extensions against the wall … on only a few centimeters! Because in recent seasons, the mini-splashback is definitely trendy!
In a white kitchen, a touch of fantasy is welcome, especially on the splashback. Brushed metal, leather effect, concrete effect… the possibilities are endless! It is even possible to combine materials: in this contemporary kitchen, we have bet on wood to bring a note of warmth and conviviality to the decor.
A credenza… without a credenza?
In the kitchen as in the rest of the house, the trend is towards minimalism. The furniture falls on top – or puts on discreet hanging storage – and the whole room becomes lighter.
In this sleek white U-shaped kitchen, all the storage is gathered on a section of the wall. And we simply opted for a painting, in a very contemporary deep blue. Does the idea appeal to you? To copy it without missing a beat, be sure to choose a paint specifically designed for the splashback: this type of product is washable, and it also resists intense heat at the hob.
There is no splashback in this open kitchen, which blends in perfectly with the living space: an effect mainly due to the uniform wall, which gives cohesion to the entire room.
