The investigation continues after the murder of a 15-year-old teenager in Toulouse. Three people, including two aged under 18, were indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on Wednesday evening, the prosecutor said.
The judicial investigation was opened under the qualifications of murder, attempted extortion committed with a weapon, participation in a criminal association and modification of the inventory of a crime or misdemeanor.
A case against the background of prostitution of minors
The incident took place on Saturday January 6 in an apartment, where a 16-year-old girl allegedly prostituted herself under the supervision of the victim. The alleged perpetrator of the fatal shooting, also aged 16, appeared on site to steal the money obtained through prostitution from the young girl, presenting himself as a potential client before pulling out a handgun. The victim then intervened and was shot in the head.
Several relatives of the teenager, present in the apartment on the floor above, where another minor was also prostituted, allegedly came to the victim’s aid after being alerted by the gunshot. They reportedly transported the “dying” victim to another location in the north of Toulouse, where she was taken care of by firefighters before succumbing to her injuries the next day.
Three people still in police custody
On Saturday, two other individuals, one a minor and the other barely an adult, were “mandated to recover the personal effects” of the minor prostitute “and clean up the scene” of the tragedy. Both arrested by police officers called to the scene by neighbors who had discovered traces of blood in the street and heard an explosion, they were also indicted and placed in pre-trial detention.
Of the nine people initially taken into custody, six were ultimately released. The deceased teenager was known to the courts for drug trafficking and violence, according to the prosecution.
