An “extraordinary”, “historic”, “unprecedented” trial… The trial of the November 13 attacks opens on Wednesday before the specially composed Assize Court. For nine months, 20 men will be tried, suspected of being involved – to varying degrees – in the attacks on the Stade de France, the Bataclan and the Parisian terraces. In reality, they will only be 14 to actually be present since six are under arrest warrant, probably killed in Syria for five of them.
The scale of this attack, which claimed the lives of 130 people and left hundreds of injured, required the installation of a tailor-made device: a new room, with 500 seats, was built for the occasion. . A room which nevertheless remains too small to accommodate the 330 lawyers, the 1,800 civil parties, journalists from all over the world …
