Western Australia plans to reopen its borders to international travelers on February 5, 2022. This was announced by the state government. According to projections, 90 percent of residents over the age of twelve were vaccinated against the coronavirus by the date of the opening. The trip to Western Australia. which, like the entire country, has sealed itself off since the beginning of the pandemic, will be linked to several conditions. A negative PCR test is required before departure, which must not be older than 72 hours before departure, and two further PCR tests in the country itself – once within 48 hours of arrival and also on the sixth day. Fully vaccinated travelers do not need to be quarantined. Unvaccinated tourists are required to isolate themselves in a designated quarantine facility or special hotel for two weeks. The sparsely populated state of Western Australia makes up around a third of the area of Australia. The capital is Perth. Many of the country’s world-famous attractions are in the east and south-east, for example Sydney, Melbourne, the Great Barrier Reef.
