For your next weekend (Saturday February 24 and Sunday February 25), the weather conditions promise to be particularly rough with rain, strong winds and a lot of snow in the mountains, all accompanied by a gloomy feeling. In this low pressure context, the risk of gales is very present.

For the last weekend of February and meteorological winter (from March 1, it will be the start of meteorological spring), unsettled, humid and windy weather will be expected, with temperatures barely in season and feeling gloomy.

The parade of disturbances will continue in a west or northwest oriented flow with cool and unstable ocean air. It will be impossible for you to escape the bad weather. In the mountains, it will snow heavily and you will need to be careful if you go up or down ski resorts.

A weekend marked by agitation and rain, risk of gale force winds

The precise chronology of the passage and intensity of the disturbances remains to be clarified at this time. But the low-pressure context will be conducive to unsettled weather across the country. In this context, Roussillon could finally have rain.

SATURDAY, the weather will be unstable with frequent showers or showers, mainly in the west. In the southwest, rain will be frequent and it will snow a lot in the Pyrenees from 1200 meters. Near the Mediterranean, mistral and tramontane will blow, chasing the previous disturbance towards Corsica and Italy.

This day presents a risk of strong gust of wind over the Atlantic arc with a possible oceanic depression approaching.

In the morning, temperatures will be 3 to 6°C reaching 8 to 12°C in the afternoon. In full wind, the feeling will be particularly unpleasant, but these are seasonal values.

Sunday, this day also presents a risk of gale force winds, rather to the south (Aquitaine and the Mediterranean). Even if the deadline is still far away, a disturbance linked to a virulent depression could cross most of the country, from west to southeast. It will be accompanied by sustained rain and strong winds, especially over the Atlantic arc with gusts reaching 80 to 100 km/h. The Mediterranean regions also seem exposed to this bad weather. In the mountains, heavy snowfall is expected above 1200 meters, especially in the Pyrenees, which will experience a stormy weekend.

Temperatures in the morning will be 3 to 8°C for minimums. In the afternoon, we expect 8 to 12°C from north to south for the maximum.
