In Germany, sunny and warm spring weather is initially only in sight in the south. Several low pressure areas are causing rain and wind. But a change is on the horizon.

The weather in Germany will remain wet, windy and changeable over the next few days. “There are numerous low pressure areas over Western Europe and the Atlantic this week that are sending their weather fronts to us and causing unstable weather with rain and showers,” predicted meteorologist Markus Böse from the German Weather Service in Offenbach.

However, the south benefits from proximity to a high over the Mediterranean. The result: more sun, less precipitation and also a little milder.

Temperatures in most regions will reach an expected 10 to 16 degrees for the time of year in the next few days, as Böse said. From Thursday onwards it will gradually get warmer. “The best spring weather awaits us next weekend.” Temperatures may rise to more than 25 degrees in the south and possibly also in the center. This is the mark of a summer day. The sun often shines and rain is no longer expected.

Wind will blow noticeably

Until then, in addition to rain, dense clouds and dark clouds, wind must also be expected. The high air pressure over the Mediterranean region causes high pressure differences over Central Europe. “This means that the wind will blow noticeably in the next few days,” says Böse. “But a major storm event is not expected.”

Tuesday begins with new showers and heavy rain moving from west to east. There is also a very gusty wind blowing. “Sometimes it can get stormy, so an umbrella may not always be the right rain protection,” warns the weather expert. The unsettled weather will continue on Wednesday.
