Weather in Bavaria: Floods subside – sunshine at the start of the week – Bavaria

The flood situation in Bavaria continued to ease over the weekend. On Sunday, reporting levels one or two had only been reached at individual gauges, particularly on the Danube in Lower Bavaria. Water levels were expected to be largely back to normal by the start of the week. The flood intelligence service had already announced on Saturday that the floods in the Free State would end with dry weather.

Melting snow and rain have caused the levels of some bodies of water in the Free State to rise rapidly in recent days. Warnings were issued by the authorities at times, especially on the Danube and its southern tributaries.

The German Weather Service announced continued sunny weather in the Free State at the weekend. It wasn’t until the middle of the week that rule or snow was expected again in the mountains.
