DEB team is in the quarterfinals!
Latvia can no longer overtake the DEB selection in Group B.
The German ice hockey runners-up reached the quarter-finals as spectators at the World Cup in the Czech Republic. One day after the 4-2 win against Poland, the German players saw Latvia win against Slovakia 3-2 (1-0, 0-0, 1-2, 0-0, 1-0) after a penalty shootout, but can no longer pass.

This means that the path is clear for national coach Harold Kreis’ team before the final preliminary round game against France on Tuesday (from 12.20 p.m. in the live ticker).
It is still unclear whether the German team will finish Group B in Ostrava in second, third or fourth place – and therefore also who they will have to face in the round of the last eight. Possible opponents are Switzerland, hosts the Czech Republic and defending champions Canada.
