“We are certain that a truth will come out”, repeats Didier Digard at a press conference

His speech was at least as expected as that of Christophe Galtier, the day before, on the side of Paris. Saturday, two days before the trip to OGC Nice, Didier Digard spoke again about the affair which is shaking the former Nice coach, accused of racism and Islamophobia by the former sports director of the Aiglons, Julien Fournier.

“To close on the Galtier affair, I thought that my sentence was French: I had said that two versions clashed and that the truth was going to come out. It passed for a position whereas, for me, I was not taking sides, declared Didier Digard. I remained very straight in my statement. Now, good for us that justice has been seized, we have the certainty that a truth will come out and at that time we may be able to express ourselves, but not until then. That there is a preliminary investigation? It’s great, sincerely, otherwise it’s the public tribunal, and it’s terrible. On this point at least, Didier Digard and Christophe Galtier are of the same opinion.

Word against word, pending the outcome of the investigation

Indeed, on Friday, the Nice prosecutor’s office opened an investigation and a search took place in the premises of the Gym. For the time being, if many witnesses outside the club in the south of France have spoken, most of them to testify in favor of Christophe Galtier, on the side of Nice, nothing has filtered from the mouths of the players or the leaders. The judicial inquiry could quickly shed new light since, for the moment, it is word against word with, on the one hand, a Galtier who denies the accusations of racism en bloc and, on the other, a Julien Fournier who refuses to speak.
