The Minister of the Armed Forces affirmed that Ukrainian soldiers engaged in the war against the Russians would soon be trained in France.
While Ukraine is trying to gradually regain the territories conquered by Russia, in particular with the help of materials and information provided by NATO member countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, the Germany or even France, the French Minister for the Armed Forces announced, in an interview with Parisian that Ukrainian soldiers would soon be assigned to French units to be trained for several weeks.
“The President of the Republic has validated a training plan which will make it possible to accommodate up to 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers in France. There have already been artillery training courses in France for the Caesars, but here we are changing direction. scale (…) There will be three levels of training. First, the generalist training of the combatant. Then, on specific needs reported by the Ukrainians, such as logistics. And a third level of training on the materials provided “, specifies Sébastien Lecornu who recalls that “we do this by respecting the rules of law, without ever being in co-belligerence because we are not at war. We are helping a country which is at war”.
Arrival of the first Russian soldiers in Belarus
On the ground, the first Russian soldiers of the new military grouping between Moscow and Minsk arrived in Belarus, indicated this Saturday, October 15, the Belarusian authorities, after the announcement this week of the creation of this force supposed to defend the borders of the country facing a Ukrainian threat.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday accused Moscow of wanting to “drag Belarus into war” and called on the G7 for an international observation mission on the border between Ukraine and Belarus. Belarus, an ally of Russia in its conflict with Ukraine, has already lent its territory to the Russian army for its offensive against Ukraine, but the Belarusian army has not taken part in the fighting on Ukrainian territory so far. . The entry of Belarusian forces into its neighbor would mark a new escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. But Minsk assures that it does not plan to send its army, much smaller in size than that of Moscow, to fight in Ukraine alongside the Russians.
