In May, thousands of citizens of the Central African Republic (CAR) streamed into the stadium in the capital Bangui, which was more full of modern technology than ever before: large loudspeakers and a screen stood at the head of the arena. When it got dark, Russian soldiers crawled, ran, shouted and fired as best they could for a feature length of the film. “Tourist” was the name of the film, the cover of which the audience wore on t-shirts given out; they cheered at every battle they won.
