Vladimir Sorokin: Moscow is withdrawing his novel “Inheritance” from circulation – Culture

Vladimir Sorokin, who has been living in exile in Berlin since Putin’s attack on Ukraine, is one of Russia’s most eloquent critics as a writer and is considered a literary opposition figure. His most recent novel entitled “The Heritage” (Nasledie), published by the major Moscow publisher Eksmo-AST, has now been withdrawn by this publisher, as the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) reports. A newly founded “Book Expert Center” close to the Kremlin is said to have intervened accordingly.
