Ukraine claims to have hit the frigate “Admiral Makarov”.

After the “Moskva” did Ukraine again meet an important Russian warship? At least that’s what media reports claim. Accordingly, the modern frigate “Admiral Makarov” was hit by rockets of the “Neptune” type and would now burn. Videos should prove that, there is no confirmation.

According to Ukrainian media reports, a Russian frigate caught fire in the Black Sea after rocket fire. The reports were initially not officially confirmed in either Moscow or Kyiv. However, the Ukrainian general staff has already increased the number of allegedly sunk Russian ships by one more to a total of eleven.

“The explosion followed by fire occurred on board the Project 11.356 frigate,” which is located near Snake Island, reported the Odessa-based medium Dumskaya.net. According to journalists, the frigate was hit by a Neptune anti-ship missile. When asked by journalists, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “We have no information on this.”

The first reports of the alleged incident appeared on social networks on Thursday. To support its report, Dumskaya.net presented a satellite photo from the night supposedly showing the fire on the ship. The authenticity of the image could not be verified independently. There are now several videos that are supposed to show a burning ship. Twitter users write that the ship seen in the video corresponds to the silhouette of the “Admiral Makarov”. There are also reports that numerous Western reconnaissance aircraft are said to be near the area where the burning ship was last suspected.

The Admiral Grigorovich-class frigate is a new type of ship introduced into the Russian Armed Forces only since 2016. There are currently three frigates of this type in the Russian Black Sea Fleet. It was unclear which ship it should be exactly.

In mid-April, the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the missile cruiser Moskva, sank after a fire. According to Ukrainian information, the warship was also sunk by a “Neptune” rocket. Meanwhile, Russia speaks of an accident on board. The ship is said to have sunk in a storm.
