VIDEO | World AIDS Day: Over 5,000 people live with HIV in Lower Saxony and Bremen

December 1st has been World AIDS Day for 35 years. HIV is no longer a death sentence. A normal and long life is possible with the virus. Nevertheless, those affected are still discriminated against in their private or professional lives due to ignorance. According to the Robert Koch Institute, around 3,650 people in Lower Saxony live with the HIV virus. In Bremen there are a good 1,800 people. However, with timely treatment, the outbreak of AIDS can be prevented.
