Verdi calls for strikes on Amazon again

Strikes threaten at Amazon like here in Bad Hersfeld. Verdi has called on employees at several locations in Germany to stop working on Monday. On this day, the employees there should take on additional tasks at the locations in Germany and abroad that are not being worked on due to the All Saints holiday. From Tuesday night, employees at other Amazon locations would go on strike. With the strikes, Verdi wanted to emphasize the demand that the US online retailer pass on the wage increases to the industry’s collective bargaining agreements immediately to its employees. In the conflict, Verdi had tried several times to use strikes to increase pressure on Amazon. Amazon said the pay, benefits, and career opportunities at the company were “excellent.”
