STORY: In Washington, former adviser to Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, has been sentenced to four months in prison by a federal court for contempt of the US Congress. The former chief strategist of the then president also had to pay a fine of around 6,650 euros. The 68-year-old had already been found guilty in the summer. Because the court saw it as proven that Bannon ignored a subpoena from the investigative committee into the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021 and did not provide requested documents. Now the sentence has been announced in Washington. However, Bannon is expected to appeal the verdict.
