Situation in Kiev worsens
STORY: Tense calm in Ukraine’s capital, Kiev. Roadblocks were erected in the city center on Thursday after Russia attacked Ukraine on several flanks, including via Belarus to the north. Kiev is only around 150 kilometers from the border. According to Ukrainian sources, Russian helicopters and planes have already dropped paratroopers at an airport in the Kiev region. 20 machines are involved in the operation. The airport is around 25 kilometers from the city. The Russian Defense Ministry said the Russian army had destroyed 83 land-based Ukrainian targets, according to the Interfax news agency. Accordingly, all military goals were achieved on Thursday. The attacks have triggered a growing wave of refugees since the early hours of the morning. Among other things, the Polish border is a target for many people who fear a further escalation of the Russian attack.
