Video: Ship ran aground in the Suez Canal

STORY: In the Suez Canal in Egypt, according to insiders, tugs have refloated a ship that ran aground late on Wednesday. The tanker briefly blocked the southern section of the canal, local shipping authority officials said. According to the monitoring service TankerTrackers, the ship appeared to have lost control in the waterway that is so important for global shipping. It temporarily obstructed traffic and is now heading south again, but is moving slowly with the help of tugs, TankerTrackers said on Twitter. In March last year, the 400-meter-long “Ever Given” blocked the way for around a week, causing delays in world trade and supply chains.
