At award speeches you often see that the winners are quite modest. Which is usually followed by thanks to colleagues, friends or family. None of this was present in Maurice Weber’s speech when he received the “Player of the Year” award at the German Computer Game Awards ceremony in Munich a few days ago. Instead, the Munich resident said: “Of course I deserve this. And actually you can leave a few subscriptions too.” But good. The moderators Katrin Bauerfeind and Uke Bosse had previously asked the audience whether they wanted to hear “the bad or the good moderation”. Bauerfeind’s reaction to this: “Hey Weber, that’s if you’re evil, then advertise yourself? That’s not evil, that’s sensible.”
