Rubble landscapes in Kyiv

STORY: Drone footage taken on Monday shows the extent of the damage caused by shelling on apartment buildings and a shopping area in Kiev’s Podil district late Sunday night. At least eight people were killed in the shelling after a relatively quiet weekend, according to Ukraine’s Attorney General. The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights counts 925 civilians killed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24. In addition, 1,496 were injured, the panel said. This man from Kyiv finds it clear: “The Russians fired rockets at our mall. Terrible damage was done to our mall and the surrounding apartment buildings. I think it will be important to show the whole world that we don’t have any strategic military objects here , as the Russians claim.” Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced another curfew for the Ukrainian capital: “The curfew in Kyiv and in the Kyiv region will be tightened again. It begins today at 8 p.m. and lasts until 7 a.m. on March 23, i.e. the day after tomorrow. Shops, pharmacies , gas stations and other facilities will not be open tomorrow.” According to Russian sources, the talks with Ukraine on a ceasefire have so far remained without a major breakthrough. Significant progress still needs to be made before there can be a basis for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, says spokesman for the Presidential Office in Moscow, Dmitry Peskov.
