In Spain, tens of thousands of people demonstrated against the planned amnesty for Catalan separatists, with which Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez wants to secure another term in office. In the parliamentary elections in July, Sanchez’s Socialists received fewer seats than the Conservatives. However, they were unable to organize an absolute majority in parliament.
