A private plane crashed on a highway in Florida on Friday February 9, 2024. Two people lost their lives.
The plane had “lost its engines”. On Friday, a private jet crashed on a highway in South Florida, reports the American Civil Aviation Regulatory Agency on X (Twitter).

The accident leaves two dead
Around 3:15 p.m. local time, a small plane took off from the city of Naples (the namesake of the Italian town located in New Mexico). A few minutes before the planned landing in the south of the state of Florida, the aircraft encountered a technical problem.
The pilot contacted the air traffic control station by radio to inform them that he “had lost both engines and requested an emergency landing”indicates airport spokesperson Robin King to our colleagues at AFPcited by BFMTV.
“The air traffic controller immediately cleared the plane to land when the pilot said he would not reach the runway and attempted to land on I-75”he adds.
An open investigation
Five people were on board, two of them died. At the moment, it is unknown what the exact state of traffic was on Highway who saw the private jet make an emergency landing, or whether vehicles were involved in the accident.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the American Civil Aviation Regulatory Agency have launched an investigation to understand the circumstances of the tragedy.
