President Zelenskyy questions NATO’s commitment to mutual defense

STORY: During his visit to the Canadian Parliament, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyi intensified his criticism of NATO. During his video link, Zelenskyy said Article 5 was “weaker than ever,” questioning the alliance’s commitment to its collective defense clause. “Each of the more than 800 Russian missiles hitting our country is an answer to NATO’s old questions about whether NATO’s doors are open to Ukraine. If they were open, everything would be fair, then we wouldn’t have to have the alliance convince twenty days in a row to establish a no-fly zone over our country. A no-fly zone that will prevent the deaths caused by the Russian Air Force. But we will not be heard, we will not be heard.” NATO leaders have so far rejected proposals for a no-fly zone. Since the start of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, Zelenskyy has spoken to numerous parliaments about NATO allies. On March 17, Selenskyj wants to address the German Bundestag.
