STORY: Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on a visit to Sarajevo, a city whose residents themselves experienced death, suffering and destruction in the 1990s. The Balkan War raged particularly relentlessly in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Speaking to politicians on Thursday, Baerbock said she sees the war in Ukraine as proof of the urgency of further Western Balkans rapprochement with the European Union. Peace is the most important thing, the Greens politician also emphasized on site. “We, as Europeans, as an international community, stand up for this peace in Europe… And for me everything is already contracting when you look at this house so closely. And the Republic of Moldova, which borders Ukraine.
