Video: A helmet that protects in multiple ways

STORY: Special circumstances require special measures. The developers of this special motorcycle helmet in India probably thought so too. Because this helmet has filters and a fan on the back to ensure good airflow. The background is the extreme pollution in Indian cities such as New Delhi. Amit Pathak is the founder of Shellios Technolabs, a company that developed and sells this helmet: “It’s a huge market. In India there are more than 20 million two-wheelers on the roads. And every year they add about 10%. It’s so it’s a huge market, so our immediate goal is to develop the right product and serve a portion of that market.” According to Shellios Technolabs, they are the first in the world to launch a product of this type. According to the company, independent laboratory tests have shown that thanks to the design of this motorcycle helmet, more than 80% of pollutants are filtered, preventing the wearer from breathing. The price is the equivalent of over 50 euros, which is about four times what is usually paid for motorcycle helmets in India. The company has not yet announced exact sales figures.
