STORY: The queues were getting longer and longer, now those responsible in London have pulled the ripcord: With an expected waiting time of at least 24 hours to reach the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II, the British authorities have reached an end on Saturday. The Ministry of Culture asked the population on Saturday not to queue up again to say goodbye. “Please don’t come anymore,” was the appeal. Shortly before, the ministry had already announced that it would temporarily close access to the end of the queue if the rush got too big. Tens of thousands have already paid their last respects to Elizabeth, waiting hours to enter Westminster Hall, where the Queen’s coffin is kept. Elizabeth died on September 8th at the age of 96. Heads of state and government from all over the world are expected at the state funeral on Monday.
