A gesture of despair. Wednesday morning, at the Stéphane-Hessel high school in Toulouse, a final year student attempted suicide in front of his classmates and his teacher. The 18-year-old stabbed himself in the abdomen.
Emergency services quickly intervened on the spot and were able to urgently evacuate him to Rangueil University Hospital. Currently, the young man is out of danger, his injuries ultimately being superficial.
Two complaints filed for harassment
According to our colleagues at The Dispatch, the student would have left a letter to justify his action. The main reason given would be the harassment he suffered from one of his comrades. A version which must now be verified by the police in charge of the investigations.
The young man had already filed two complaints for harassment, but they were dismissed. For 24 hours, the police have been questioning the management and other final year students of this high school. For the moment, all hypotheses are being explored.
